"Everyone is entitled to the presumption of innocence, period.
However, these allegations, if proven, are among the most egregious
affecting colleges and universities in recent memory.
This behavior has absolutely no place in intercollegiate sports and
is antithetical to the core values of all American colleges and
universities. These alleged misdeeds defraud students and institutions
alike. They are not simply alleged violations of NCAA rules, more
importantly they are suspected federal criminal violations. If true, I
am confident the institutions and the NCAA will promptly take the
strongest possible action."
