Description

Objective:

Train Dispatchers in their role within the Hazard Zone management system as it applies to Blue Card. The goal is to create a more robust incident management system capable of saving more lives, protecting more property, and keeping the firefighters safe.

Learning Outcomes:

  • educate and train the students in the use of the order model and other methods for effectively communicating over tactical radio channel
  • protect life, property and firefighter safety for structural firefighting incident operations

General Topics:

  • Dispatcher's online program utilizes the 8 functions of command as the course content. 1.Deployment 2.Situation Evaluation 3.Assume, Confirm and Position Command 4.Strategy and Incident Action Planning 5.Communication 6.Organization 7.Review and Revision 8. Continuation and Termination of Command. The student then attends an 8 hour simulation lab where they fill the role of Dispatcher for structural firefighting simulations
