The course objective is to provide an overview of the Instructional Systems Design (ISD) process which consists broadly of determining the state and needs of the learner, defining the end goal of instruction, and creating an effective intervention to assist in the transition. Practical hands-on training using actual training needs are emphasized. This course covers selected subjects in; adult learning theory and the ADDIE (Analysis Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation) ISD model, performance analysis, developing training objectives, incorporating activities and visual metaphors, and design evaluation strategies to assess the effectiveness of the instructional experience.
