Learning Outcomes: Participants will be able to explain the importance of the various classes of microorganisms to the environment in which they live. Participants will be able to classify microorganisms into individual kingdoms. Participants will be able to examine the functions of a microscope. Participants will be able to demonstrate the proper preparation of microscope slides. Participants will be able to apply the process for identifying microorganisms. Participants will be able to demonstrate identifying the various types of algae. Participants will be able to categorize the types of protozoa being observed. Participants will be able to demonstrate identifying rotifers. Participants will be able to recognize the ecology of microscopic animals.
