Description

Objective:

The course objective is to provide students with knowledge, tools, techniques, and best practices to successfully initiate and plan information technology and software development projects. Students also discover way to ways to modify and adapt project management methods and techniques for IT projects, examine the constraints associated with managing an IT project from public and private sector perspectives, and learn terminology for acquisition and procurement processes as they apply to each sector.

  • Understand the processes utilized to improve the IT project's chances of success.
  • Review the basic tools, techniques, and standard operational activities that can improve an IT project's successful outcomes.
  • Identify the characteristics of IT project management and the roles involved in designing, developing, and delivering IT projects.

  • Understand how to align the needs of an organization's business; the business need; and the usefulness of IT technology, tools, and applications.
